I received a personal response from my letter to NRA 1st VP. He assures they are taking a hard look at this. I think there should be an amendment requiring any land purchased with KARA funds be required to continue paying property tax. Many counties are facing deficits because of land that has been taken off the property tax rolls due to gov't purchases.

ff, I know that property taxes isn't your issue, but it's one that would hit close to home with folks I know here. I will pursue this with the Iowa delegation.

Actually we have both state and national policy on tax and revenue issues. We are against removing property from the tax roles as it tends to hurt rural communities.

I quit the NRA because of that organization's support of CARA, the Confiscation and Relocation Act.
