"It appears to me that the accountants and executives at Fox News are getting nervous about their "conservative" label."
I think they are forgetting that the conservatives are the ones who kept calling their providers and demanding to have Fox.
Now that we have accomplished building them up to the #1 news to watch - they are pulling a 'taliban' on us!!

This calls for a 55-gallon face job, IMO.

My recollection of Greta, from the days before I had FOX News Channel, was that she was the least accurate predictor of pending legal decisions. Napolitano was very accurate. Fox should hire him, if they haven't already.
As far as the effect that hiring Greta will have, that depends on what happens to Geraldo. The punishment for deliberately lying to the viewers should be very harsh. There might be room for one transgression, but it would not surprise me and would please me greatly if Geraldo is never seen on Fox again. This would send a clear message to other "journalists" thinking of playing fast and loose with the truth.

I find more cogency, peace and tranquility here at FR during prime time (well, most of the time, anyway, hehee!) Me too.
Video is very convincing and I continue to value it though. When we add video content to these postings, the TV and cable networks will lose their significance.
Any sensible person would be drawn away from the narrowly argued sound byte [and leftist defined] spin vs. anti-spin polemic. "No spin-zone," is now a relic IMO.
Stay alert and thinking.

I agree that Richardson is the one of the worst government officials we have seen in the Klinton administration, and thats saying alot because there were scores of inept and corrupt officials (Reich, Albright, O'Leary, Reno, etc.). So in that regard what he has to say should be questioned because he is obviously a huge f*** up.

Dennis Miller's take on Greta was that her mouth moved like
Clutch Cargo'sAnd he's right LOL

Amazing! CNN is going down the drain...but decides to keep Greta...so FOX hires her away from them?
What can FOX be thinking? Do they really think the loyal CNN viewers will switch over to FOX because they LOVE Greta so much?
Guess FOX loyalists didn't have enough to digest with Geraldo? Now this?

Seriously? You think Rita Cosby is liberal? Not at all. I can't stand her voice. She whistles or something when she says her "s"'s. But the other thing that I don't like that she does have some control over is the way she'll throw out another question to her guest even before the person is finishing the first question.

I guess FOX thought that Great's Scientology affiliation would make up for losing Paula Zahn and her pychic friends.
Either that or the other cable stations are trying to sabotage FOX by sending them all their garbage.

But the other thing that I don't like that she does have some control over is the way she'll throw out another question to her guest even before the person is finishing the first question. It's not just whistling her s's, but it seems to be a problem with her soft palate (or something) that makes this high-pitched whistle appear when she talks. I know it makes my dog start whining, then barking at the tube when she's on. She also squeezes her voice so it goes up about a half an octave when she's narrating a taped story. For some reason, Ailes thinks she's a good reporter, but overall, Catherine Herridge is a better reporter.

I think this is about advertising dollars. Fox is bleeding red ink and until it loses the GOP-TV image, they think they won't get the high-dollar corporations.

"They've had a rocky transition from being a scandal-driven network to a hard news-based (and international based) network which seems to turn the news division lights off on weekends. Hiring another talking head rather than building up their domestic and international news staff isn't all that smart of a move."
I became a fan of Fox because it was about the only place to get a conservative slant on the news.
My one problem with Fox is that their week-ends are 'no news' and all repeats!
I was hoping to see that change - but it looks like it won't.
If they become another CNN - I'll stick to getting my news on FR and the internet. I stopped buying my local newspaper and they keep offering low-cost deals, but it's not worth it to waste time with liberal slanted 'so-called' news.

They've had a rocky transition from being a scandal-driven network to a hard news-based (and international based) network which seems to turn the news division lights off on weekendsAgree completely! They have to ditch the canned shows and decide they are truly a "news" channel. And replace some of their really weak anchors and with more John Gibsons!
I'll never understand why the holidays are the PITS for every channel, not all of us are out partying!
