Predicting 50 years, that's nothing. Here's a prediction:

In The Year 2525
In the year 2525,
If man is still alive,
If woman can survive,
They may find-

In the year 3535
Ain't gonna need to tell the truth,
Tell no lies.
Everything you think, do, and say
Is in the pill you took today.

In the year 4545
Ain't gonna need your teeth,
Won't need your eyes.
You won't find a thing to chew,
Nobody's gonna look at you.

In the year 5555
Your arms are hanging limp at your side,
You legs got nothing to do,
Some machine's doing that for you.

In the year 6565
Ain't gonna need no husband,
Won't need no wife.
You'll pick your sons, pick your daughters too
From the bottom of a long glass tube.
Whoa-oh-oh.

In the year 7510
If God's a-coming
He ought to make it by then.
Maybe he'll look around himself and say,
"Guess it's time for the Judgement Day."

In the year 8510
God is gonna shake his mighty head.
He'll either say, "I'm pleased where man has been"
Or tear it down and start again.
Whoa-oh-oh

In the year 9595
I'm kinda wondering
If man is gonna be alive;
He's taken everything this old Earth can give
And he ain't put back nothing.

Now it's been ten thousand years,
Man has cried a billion tears
For what he never knew.
Now man's reign is through.
But throught eternal night,
The twinkling of starlight,
So very far away,
Maybe it's only yesterday...

In the year 2525 (etc...)Zager And Evans
Album : (Exordium And Terminus)

The 4.2 million Palestinians in Israel and on the West Bank and Gaza will explode to 9 million by 2025, and 15 million by 2050, when Palestinians will outnumber Israel’s Jewish population two-to-one.

Yasser's just waiting for that magic 70:1 ratio. By about 2525, I reckon, he'll have it.

I don't understand Buchanan's use of the term "the West." Is he using it to denote race and geography, or ideology and values?

If it's western ideologies he's worried about, does that mean he wants communism to stick around? Communism is a western idea. Thus, if our goal is to preserve western ideas, we shouldn't be worried about China growing in population. But Buchanan, of course, is against that.

It would seem that Buchanan defines "the West" along racial and geographical lines. If not, he shouldn’t use such a broad term.

One of the most interesting aspects of the modern immigrant saga has been the deafening SILENCE on the part of the environmental lobby. Environmentalists are arguably one of the most powerful lobbies because they function through judicial dictate--the preferred method of governance by the Washington Power Structure.

They have been overwhelmingly successful in inculcating Native-born Americans with a sense of self-loathing and limitation. One could argue that many Americans limit the children they bring into the world because of concerns for over-population. And, of course, any environmentalist worth his salt would argue that the human population is the single greatest threat to the health of the environment.

And yet every allowable opinion on the mass immigration policies of the last 30 years (far "left" and far "right", or tweedledum and tweedle-dumber) has been overwhelmingly favorable.

They also limit reproduction because they have been taught that material wealth equals success and also because 50% of their earnings are redistributed--NOT to the poor or sick--but rather to the bureaucracy that enlarges itself with every election cycle. And the bureaucracy--government and corporate--is one of the greatest boosters of mass immigration. The same corporate/statist bureaucracy that funds "population control" everywhere on the planet.

(The only Federal bureaucracy that has ever been in danger of being trimmed since WWII is the military. And even calling it "trimming" is laughable in the context of the fact that we spend 14 times more on defense than the entire rest of the world put together. But even that "threat" has been diminished now that George Bush has declared eternal war against "terrorism" and "evil".)

The most interesting debate since the Lincoln/Douglas debates would surely have been a Buchanan/Nader debate. And yet both these men are marginal characters in our "free" country.

Already only a minority of "citizens" vote in our carefully controlled election "process".

It's all very curious to a simple person like me.....

No one seems to have suggested that Buchanan has the facts wrong.

It's more of a rich vs. poor debate than a racialist debate. A broad historical trend about rich cultures which are located next to poor ones is that the rich cultures always have lower birth rates and higher average ages (this isn't a roman catholic issue - more like the prosperous yuppie "fear of commitment" where people don't get married or have kids; different motivations and ways of avoiding responsibility) and the poor ones move in.

And the US has been a great place to be as a rich country. It might not be so great as a poor one.

They're talking about the very same thing in Europe. Buchanan has just cast the discussion in North American terms.

I picture Pat standing on a bridge in Illinios right now talking about how the "the Jew uses the Black for muscle", then breaking into a rousing rendition of "Weissmanner Uber Alles".

End of Western civilization?

Whatever the merits of the current anthropology thesis, hard to figure why Buchanan thinks whining and throwing public tantrums about blacks, Mexican immigrants, and Israel is a viable political platform. He may have a point about the cultural consequences of suicidal population control. Interesting message. Wrong messenger. Glib PC secular humanism has been working self-destruction on American society and Western culture for quite a while.

Future Social Studies class question for students in U.S. public schools: "Who knows what Western civilization was? Class, anyone know?"

Mexican Reconquista: Leader Says California Will Be First 'Hispanic' State

Stephan Archer Wednesday, June 7, 2000

......Glenn Spencer, president of Voice of Citizens Together and radio talk show host of American Patrol Report, thinks so. But he thinks there’s something more sinister to the Mexican president’s decree than one might think.

"This is an invasion of the United States in a very classic way with all of the classic objectives of an invasion without using bullets," Spencer said.

Spencer added he believed Mexico is allowing this so that those people with dual citizenship may vote in the interest of Mexico in the United States. The ultimate goal of this invasion, Spencer contends, is to reclaim the American Southwest – an area including California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and parts of Colorado and Texas. Known as Aztlan by Hispanic activists, these states make up what used to be Mexican territory before treaties and wars gave the land to the United States.

Some Hispanic activists deny that there is any sort of organized effort to take over these states and reclaim it for Mexico. However, Jose Pescador Osuna, who was once the Mexican consul general in Los Angeles, has been quoted on the record as saying, "Even though I’m saying this part serious and part joking, I believe we are practicing 'La Reconquista' in California."

"La Reconquista" means "the reconquest" and refers to the taking over of the U.S. Southwest. Osuna now is an agent of the Mexican government and works for migration in Mexico City.

Even though these statements have been made on American soil, Mario Obledo of the California Coalition of Hispanic Organizations said the "radical" Aztlan movement died in the 1960s. Obledo, a resident of Sacramento, Calif., explained that his organization tries to secure the civil rights of Mexican-Americans "and others similarly situated."

Although claiming a profound faith in America, he’s also proud of the fact that the majority of Californians in the next few years will be Hispanic.

"California is going to be a Hispanic state," Obledo said. "Anyone who doesn’t like it should leave."

Some facts for the race-obsessed.

The Census 2000 numbers show that the country is presently 69% non-hispanic white. However, this figure includes millions of non-Europeans (North Africans, Middle Easterners et al) bringing down the European derived American population to around 64-65%. I don't have the exact numbers but I would estimate that almost half of the children born in the country are not exclusively European (the percentage of interracial marriages is also increasing ). What this means is that no change in our immigration policy is going to change the fact that people with a exclusively European heritage are going to become a minority in this country.

In his chapter, “The De-Christianization of America,” Buchanan argues that the death of the Christian faith in Western countries is a primary cause of their dying populations. Whenever faith dies, the people die. A new atheistic civilization is arising, he argues, and is using its dominance of the culture and the courts to drive Christianity out of the temples of our civilization.

He's running both hot and cold here - he condemns the immigrants for not sharing Western culture (even though most of them are Christian and even more devout Christians than many native-born people) but then turns around and declares that the West is losing its faith.

If people looked around in any Catholic Church during Mass- many of you would note the significant number of non-white, mainly immigrant faces. Around here I note the increasing number of Korean-Baptist or Chinese-Baptist or Vietnamese-Baptist churches in this area.

Buchanan is an anti-semite and has gone on racist rants quite a few times in his career.

That being said however, his demographic trends are factual and those of us who are political ascientists have known them for a long time. No one would have deared to write such a book because they would not have sold one copy and their academic careers would have been destroyed.

Secondly the Marxists in my department and throughout academia see this as the vision of the world to come and have actively participated in making sure that it came to pass.

You may not like the messenger, but what he says is true. Unfortunately it is Buchanan who wrote this book and nobody will pay attention to it. The West is dying and it has been dying for a long time now. It's death began with the birth of Karl Marx and the romantic revolution of the 19th century. The cancer of collectivism and multicuturalism has been spreading ever since. Conformity to the new ethos is demanded by society.

Welcome to the new century.

The Southwestern states are in a Catch-22 situation. Illegal immigrants from Mexico are tapping the states' social services, but at the same time, the illegals play a significant part in the health of the states' economy, doing much of the difficult agricultural work that Americans choose to avoid.

This is just another reason why I'm glad that this baby never became POTUS. We needed a real man-someone who knows how to encourage us through tough times.

Buchanan is simply the living book tour, and some apparantly love to finance the wimp-thus becoming one themselves.

I have not read this book, but regarding the attack on Christianity from liberals - there is now a concerted plan by leftists to attack Christianity (as told on Rush today.) In cahoots is the New York Times who will now refer to the Taliban RIGHT or Islam RIGHT and compare them to the "Christian religious right." I say that our country and culture is under attack - but while I agree that illegal aliens should be deported, it is not just some extreme foreigners who are attacking. Often, it is white liberals who are the worst. The rot from within so to speak.
