While I maintain my strong belief in an individual's right to bear arms, I am also convinced that in the wake of the terrorist attacks we must be especially careful to maintain our state's balance between the rights of the individual and the safety of the public.

Uh...didn't the terrorists use box cutters, not firearms, to hijack those aircraft?
