It would not have to evolve. It is simply an energy exchange which we can not yet measure. What are thoughts, ideas, do they exist in the brain or are they independent and the brain simply tunes into them. If ideas are independent of the brain then maybe they have existed forever in a dimension that we are not completely aware of. The Parrot, if this is true could simply have developed a slightly different way to tune in, just like every other creature.
