AM CURIOUS what you find doesn't fit about it.
I studied for approx 9 university course hours--3 hours per year for 3 years from a Hindu in my BA program. I disagree with you. From what I know, it fits entirely.
Besides all that--virtually any individual or group has a CAPACITY to become violent--and many extremely so. . . .given certain contingencies and conditioning.
Hinduism is so multifaceted, one "god" can be construed as creative and another as extremely destructive. Given the belief in reincarnation--killing is just assisting someone into their next incarnation. . . .
But rabid belief acted out by insecure, hostile, disaffected, perceived as threatened etc. sorts of folk can readily join up with the likes of Bin Laden or a rampaging mob of Hindus against those they feel threat from--real or imagined.
