I've done this before. I have Irish relatives on BOTH sides, one grandfather had married a woman with the surname Kelly, and t'other had married one with the surname Sweeney. If genetics holds true, that makes me at least half-Irish, so I am perfectly aware of the overwhelming NEED to invent adversity. Uncle Clark (mother's side) and Uncle Virgil (father's side) so nearly resembled each other, they could have been mistaken for brothers, and they were BOTH the archetypical charming Irishman. Consumption of alcohol, womanizing, underhanded business deals, resistance to legal restraint, and ability to so embellish upon the truth of the matter to the point of being downright dazzling, were but a few of the traits they shared.
