Please don't remind us of Teddy Kennedy. :-(
Barney Frank, OTOH, is not Catholic as far as I know.
But you could have chosen plenty of other CINO's to embarrass us with, unfortunately.
There is a petition to have the worst of them excommunicated. It's at: this site
It doesn't do any of us any good to fight over who is doing the most for the pro-life cause. I think we could all do more than we are.
I agree with you whole-heartedly. That's why I thought it un-called for to suggest one religion does "more."
Why are yo so concerned with the sex lives about your fellow citizens? Does it have something to do with your hatred for women?
Now...quit playing bait and switch and answer the questions.
And you wonder why I keep bringing up your obsession with the sex lives of others.
You have this obsessive need to stalk me around these threads. I am wondering if your obsession comes from the fact that you are a post-menopausal Catholic.
The Catholic Church forbids sex if it can not lead to procreation. Post-menopausal women can not procreate thus they are not permitted to have sex.
You know my wife is post-menopausal and you know we are not Catholics. I suspect you are jealous of the fact that we can have sex and you can not.
I also suspect that being a post-menopausal Catholic is one of the reasons JMJ333 is obsessed with the sex lives of other people.
So tell me, both of you, have I hit upon you hidden secret?
You seem to have forgot that I am Pro-life. Several of you have pointed out that the Gallop Polls says that 73% of all Americans are Pro-life. The 73% percent you refer to is those people want all or some abortions to be illegal. Since I am in the 73%, I am clearly Pro-life by the very standards that you have set.
Now that we have that out of the way, let's get back to your obsession with the sex lives of other people.
I am Pro-life my the definition that many of you have used. I oppose partial birth abortions thus I am in that category of people who think all or some abortions should be illegal.
Now stop trying to evade the issue. Did I find one of the reasons for your being so obsessed with the sex lives of others?
Gee, pcl, and I thought you didn't know anything about abortion. You REALLY don't know anything about Catholicism. Have you ever heard that old saying that goes something like this:
"If you are quiet and people think you are an idiot, don't open your mouth and remove all doubt."
I posted this on another thread yesterday and I think it goes with what you said.
I believe a true Christian must act like one and behave appropriately. I believe they must remain humble. I believe they must love their enemies. They must strive to be Christ like. No not perfect, just kind, gentle, loving, generous, and compassionate, while remaining firm in ones beliefs and not to be afraid of driving the tax collectors out of the temple.
Actually PC1, this is a sad misunderstanding on your part. Our God teaches sex is awesome, beautiful, wonderful, and glorious. Its his wedding gift from him, and it has been my favorite wedding gift. Who needs china or silverware. Just give me sex with my fabulous husband and Im happy. If a couple procreates in the act, its a blessing. But I would venture to say, most married couples engage in sex, because they love each other not because they are trying to procreate. If that should happen WONDERFUL. The Bible teaches that sex should be enjoyed within the sanctity of marriage. While many couples have sex who are not married, they still must be responsible for any life they produce. Go read the Song of Solomon. My God says its ok to have sex with my husband 5 times a day (or more) if I want to, and ENJOY it. There are also many verses in the New Testament which discuss marital sexuality. Its a radical thing to suggest, but God was really the first feminist. He wanted men to love their wives and treat them with tenderness, kindness and sacrificial love. A revolutionary idea at the time when women were property. In Gods eyes, women were not property. God loves and cares more about womens mental and physical health than a feminist could ever dream of caring.
This is not about having control over someones sexual activities. Its about saving childrens, mothers and fathers lives from butchering a life, because its inconvenient. I dont care what someone does in their bedroom, just please dont kill your baby. Ill take it.
On another thread I asked you what you were personally doing to promote your "pro-life" views. You told me 2 things:
1) that you and your wife had decided that she wouldn't have an abortion (since you now admit that she is post-menopausal, that hardly seems much of a commitment) and
2) Just waiting for the opportunity to vote for the right candidate or California State proposition if it comes to that.
You live in California. Please tell us who you are supporting in the upcoming governor's race. You have 4 main choices: Davis, Riordan, Jones and Simon.
BTW, you also said, and this is a direct quote:
Yes. It is wonderful to be an American woman in the Second Millenium. My wife does have the right to choose.
Hardly seems consistent with being in any way, shape or form "pro-life", does it?
