Having worthy adversaries is an honor. Very rarely can one condone utter loathing fer another human being the way I loathed Roger Staubach, and this guy was a Naval Academy grad and a stand-up dude...LOL!! But when he strapped on the silver, blue, and grey and that goofy star...heck, I couldda whupped his ass!! Drew Pearson was another guy who'd I'd probably get along with great, were he not a OffensiveInterferenceCommittin' PUNK...LOL!!

Kilmer's still my favorite Skins QB of all-time...excluding Sammy Baugh, of course, who was a bit before my time. Someday, I'd like to buy Billy and Sonny a beer...or a shot, whatever the case may be. Heck, might as well invite Riggo, too, and my favorite Skins player of all-time, Larry Brown. Does LB do shots, though?

Talbert proved prophetic, for in the third quarter, with the Cowboys trailing 16–3, Staubach was injured. "That rookie" that Talbert was referring to was backup quarterback Clint Longley, who had never played in a regular season game. Longley pushed his nerves aside and took control, leading the Cowboys on two scoring drives, and with his team trailing 23–17 with 28 seconds remaining, threw a miracle 50-yard touchdown strike to receiver Drew Pearson to give the Cowboys a shocking 24–23 victory.

Ah, I remember it well! One of the classic games in football history. Almost up there with the Immaculate Reception! In those days, the only time I rooted for the Cowboys was when they played the 'skins. That was a great Thanksgiving.

If you've noticed, my FRiend, I've yet to give up on John Ashcroft as a Lost Hope; however, I sincerely believe it's time to get the lead out and either $#!+ or get off el bano!!
