FOX News, whose motto is "fair and balanced." But it is OK with Fox if Geraldo is like Clinton when it comes to truth. They have lost a lot of credibility by not sending Geraldo down the road.

BTTT for the good doctor!!!!

Eighty-nine percent of Washington journalists voted for Clinton in 1992, compared to just 43 percent of non-journalists; 23 percent of the public described themselves as liberal, compared to 55 percent of journalists; 49 percent of the public is pro-choice, whereas 82 percent of journalists are; 75 percent of the public favors the death penalty, compared to 47 percent of journalists. Anyone know the source of this data? Walter Williams rocks but I don't want to repeate it without knowing where it came from...

Really? Have you seen any of his reports lately? When?
To: JeanS
Just don't do any investigative reports on Israeli espionage in the United States. Down the memory hole.

The Free-Market's Solution to Media Bias: FOX News Great article! Excerpt:
Obviously, Goldberg is no longer with CBS. His career's death knell sounded when he wrote a Wall Street Journal editorial exposing shameless media hypocrisy, arrogance and bias back in 1996. That tells us just how appreciative the media elite are of free speech and differences of opinion.
What's the solution to major media bias? The free market is taking care of it. According to the Nielsen ratings, in the 1979-80 season, 75 percent of all television sets turned on in the early evening were set to ABC, NBC or CBS news. Today, their audience share has fallen to 43 percent. When Walter Cronkite turned over the CBS Evening News to Dan Rather, it was in first place. Now CBS is in last place, having lost half of its ratings. Americans are responding to major media bias and dishonesty by voting with their remote controls, and a beneficiary has been FOX News, whose motto is "fair and balanced."

I think these figures are in Goldberg's book - - with sources noted.

While I have not seen any Geraldo reports for a while, I believe I saw an announcement from Fox that said they were going to accept his story and not fire him.
Are you hinting that you think they might have been doing some backroom stuff and Geraldo is history? If this is true I'll buy you a virtual beer.

They have lost a lot of credibility by not sending Geraldo down the road. This may come to pass! Whoraldo is his own worst enemy.

Thanks!...apparenlty this is the original source:
Washington Bureau Chiefs & Correspondents
Overview
In April 1996, the Freedom Forum published a book by Chicago Tribune writer Elaine Povich titled, "Partners and Adversaries: The Contentious Connection Between Congress and the Media." Buried in Appendix D was the real news for those concerned about media bias: Based on the 139 Washington bureau chiefs and congressional correspondents who returned the Freedom Forum questionnaire, the Washington-based reporters by an incredible margin of nine-to-one overwhelmingly cast their presidential ballots in 1992 for Democrat Bill Clinton over Republican incumbent George Bush.
Key Findings
- 89 percent of Washington-based reporters said they voted for Bill Clinton in 1992. Only seven percent voted for George Bush, with two percent choosing Ross Perot.
- Asked "How would you characterize your political orientation?" 61 percent said "liberal" or "liberal to moderate." Only nine percent labeled themselves "conservative" or "moderate to conservative."
- 59 percent dismissed the Republican's 1994 Contract with America "an election-year campaign ploy." Just three percent considered it "a serious reform proposal."

Unfortunately, FOX is a news network only half the time --- from 6am- 6pm Eastern. The rest of the time, it's a talk network with news crawls across the bottom of the screen which can get as old as THREE DAYS. A bonafide news consumer will not stop on FOX from 6pm-6am. CNN's once horrific leftward tilt has been moderated somewhat, and at least they ARE a live 24-hour-hour operation. If something happens at 2am, CNN will cover it, while FOX may put it on a crawl as it airs a third repeat of an earlier talk show. With FOX, you get the idea that if you want details and hard facts, you're going to have to wait until morning - thru endless Bowflex 2-minute ads.
I've had to get up in the middle of the night every night for the last 6 weeks for medical reasons (mine and one of my dogs) and believe me, FOX is a wasteland at that hour.

Well, something has happened. He was on every day, now Greg whats-his-name is with the warlord that Geraldo was with and is exploring the caves and reporting every day. Geraldo has either been quietly "re-assigned" or has been brought back to be talked to by Ailes. R.A. wouldn't put up with fakery for a minute. By the same token, I expect he would be fair about it a would look into the matter completely. All I know is that right after the question came up, Geraldo was no longer on every day. Looks like FOX takes their reputation seriously.

Thank you for the ping. I do appreciate it.
Do you think the mainstream media will ever figure it out? And they think we are stupid. Amazing!
