(Just for the record, as with everything else in modern politics, the phrase "Permanent Normal Trade Relations" does not refer to actual "permanence" - China is admitted to the WTO (spitooee!), but must keep the covenants and laws of the aforementioned group in order to stay in.)

IMHO, China is broke - Most of the money that they gained came from the acquisition of Hong Kong, and, being a Socialist government, with the Marxist financial management "skills" which many Americans foolishly covet, I'm willing to wager that most of that money is already gone. But I'm no expert...
