The Philistines were not Canaanite. They came from Greece. They were European invaders.
---------------
The Jews were not Canaanites, they were intruders from what is now Iraq coming after the Philistines.

But more specifically the Canaanites were destroyed according to G-d's will for their evil(idol worship, child sacrifice, etc).
The land was ultimately bequeathed to G-d's chosen people the Israelites, if they would follow His Law.

Who said that, a burning bush or some other kind of superstition and folklore?

What happened was that coincident with, or just after, the Balfour Resolution establishing a zionist state, the attempt was made to grant Arabs minority citizenship status in what was then Palestine. It really pissed the Arabs off.

Not at all. The Balfour Declaration (not resolution) had no legal standing. It was nothing more than the British Government declaring that it viewed with favour the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

However in spite of the declaration they did their best to impede it. Within 5 years of the declaration the Britiish had carved off 78% of Palestine as an exclusively Arab country, forbid the settlement of Jews therein and called it Jordan.

After the 1929 Arab riots the British severly restricted Jewish immigration to what was left of Palestine and maintained this restriction till 1948 at the behest of the Arabs.

The various partition plans of what was left of Palestine after the Arabs were give the Jordan component envisioned partition between Arabs and Jews based on each getting the area wherein they were the predominant population. This process eventuated in UN resolution 181 of 1947 which the Arabs rejected.

The Jews accepted 181 and declared independence in May 1948 whereupon 5 Arab armies invaded the very next day. After the war Israel finished up with about 16% of Palestine as it was at the time of the Balfour Declaration.

The Arabs may be pissed because they only got 84% of Palestine but that is no excuse to fly planes into towers.

When Israel was created, they had just fought a war against those people... you don't suppose that had anything to do with they're reasoning?

Now the Arabs continue to pick fights with the Israelis, hoping they can reclaim some ancient relics either through force or guile.

While the leaders continue these pathetic attacks, the refugees are not welcome in other countries. Of all the failings of the Muslim world, this is the worst. You can rob me, shoot me, terrorize me, this is all normal human affairs. To turn your brother away when he's seeking refuge is unforgivable.

They don't have to be disenfranchised, they can become good Israeli citizens.

Right on target. For the layman, Leon Uris wrote "The Haj". A very simple, and compelling look at the palestinian mindset.
