I sincerely wish I could agree with you, but like Martin Luther and the Catholic Church of the 16th century, there is just NO LOVE left between some of us third-party quixotics and the GOP.

I wish, I really do, I SO WISH the Repubs would get it right, but the folks who wield the power in the party seem impervious to any change other than a movement leftward. I mean no real personal disparagement but honestly, Trent Lott appears to be the most effete, helpless and useless "leader" I've ever seen. Maybe others know something about the man, but I would burst into some serious weeping if THAT very typical Republican was to lead ME into battle!

Would to God we had a Rush Limbaugh, an Alan Keyes, a Michael Medved, a Hugh Hewitt running for elective offices. Invariably, it seems the "sergeants" out in the field do their job getting the troops fired up and ready, but I look in vain to see a Republican leader (in office) with half the masculinity and purpose of these talk show hosts and commentators!

Ok, I take it back, Rummy and Cheney rock, 'tis true. But who else??
