Ok if you don't believe in the bizarre entity you worship many would agree that individuals should be able to pursue their own happiness in any manner they choose that doesn't violate the rights of others or cause excessive damage to themselves. There was no harm done here and I think it's

Simply put, I doubt any just God would condemn the kid for what he did. But then again you don't believe in a just God.

Let me complete that thought...I don't think that what happened was even a clear-cut ethical violation. Ideally parents should be consulted but I'm not to suggest that they should necessarily have veto power.

I definitely believe, and thank you. God's richest blessings to you and your family also--this holy time and throughout the coming year. I'll say a special prayer for you. Merry Christmas, Jeff!

So would I. Why is the wonderment of sex such a dirty thing to religious folks? I've never understood this. It's as natural as eating. And before someone comes in to lecture me about sex and LOVE, I distinguish between the two.

"I thought man was running around naked in the woods, before he rebelled against God."

As long as Eve is there, works for me.

Because people will gladly trade their lives and forsake everything they love for it.

"How can you worship someone who holds you in such contempt..."

The real question is: why would the creator of the entire universe have such a petty human need to be worshipped in the first place? What kind of gargantuan ego creates a self-aware entity just to be stroked? Nope, don't buy it...that's not the God I believe is behind all this.

What if Jack's dying wish was to discover what it felt like to kill another human being? Would anyone have granted this wish to him? If not, then why balk at fornication? (However, if it is not moral for Jack to murder, it is also not right for him to fornicate.)

"...it was legally and morally the responsibility of the parents."

Absolutely agree...and I'd be furious if anyone went behind my back. But still, I'm glad the young man got to experience the feel of woman. Other than true love, to me, there is no greater pleasure in the human experience.

"Because people will gladly trade their lives and forsake everything they love for it."

So that makes sex dirty? I would say the character weakness which allows those actions to be what's dirty and ugly.

# 397: I have never been one to believe that ignorance is bliss, but for some reason I am not only elated but somehow almost proud, to confess that I do not have the slightest idea of what you are talking about.

Had Jack confided that he wanted to go on a deer hunt, all hell would have broken loose.

Did you find sex disappointing when YOU were a young man?

That is an impertinent question...but then I am not a man. I agree with the critics that said sex with a stranger is demeaning to both persons.

Nothing like sending the kid off to hell.

Someone has DIED, and you're gloating about it?

You remind me of a Christian author who spoke in a church one evening, before a group of church ladies. He told them "every 30 seconds a child dies hungry in Africa, and isn't that a God-damned shame?"

Those uptight prissies were horrified that he'd say such a word inside a church. Then he asked them "which bothered you more, the fact that every 30 seconds a child dies hungry in Africa, or that I said 'God-damned'?"

You sound like the kind of person who doesn't care for a person's life, just that they "toe the line". Guess we'll have to be stepping around you in Heaven so as not to insult you... if you're even going there to begin with.

You have a knack for asking pointless questions in lieu of thinking.

They are called rhetorical questions, and their purpose is to inspire you to think about your position.

Procreation is as fundamental a drive as breathing.

I perhaps did not make myself clear enough in my initial post, but I thought my followup clarified what I was saying. I was talking about minors, not adults.

People that believe in hell are amusing to me.

Ever been to Jersey?
