Rush will appreciate as I did the beautiful operatic piece he used to play by Charlene Gault, I think her name is, from Dallas. She had to rerecord it because one of the lyrics referred to the number of stations that carried Rush's show and that number kept climbing. And the final line was "God Bless You Rush Limbaugh". Yep, that's the way I feel too. I've missed my buddy and I hope this will in some way make him whole again.

Rush said that it will be rather poor for sound quality, but much better than complete silence.

Didn't Rush say the new sounds would be different ... like voices would be like computer-generated voices?

Every time I hear the Mannheim Steamroller, I think of him and feel sad. He loves them so much!! I hope he will be able to hear somewhat of what they really sound like. Tho' he did say that he can REMEMBER their sound even tho' he can't hear them!

Yes, both ears. The disease is terrible for others as well and can have very sad effects. My daughter has it and lost all her hair and she had beautiful blond hair too. She now has no eyebrows, lashes or even hair on her arms and legs--no more leg shaving.

The immune system somehow goes berserk and attacks the hair follicles as "enemy" invaders and it's all over and quickly. At times the affected immune system attacks the inner ear and hearing is often ended.

I can pick lyrics out of songs, bop to my beloved early-'60s Brasilian jazz collection, This is wonderful news and you cleared up the mystery how someone is able to hear the sound of a voice, but not music. Bird song is a wonderful thing in the morning and I'm happy that you and Rush will enjoy hearing it.

I thought Rush explained that sound would come from the top of his head, yet the diagram in an earlier post says otherwise. Did I misunderstand?
