What is the most effective way of getting involved and actually making things happen?

1. Writing your congress critter
2. Writing letters to the editor
3. Protesting in the street
4. Running for office
5. Setting yourself on fire in the town square
6. Posting your complaints on FreeRepublic

What do you do, if anything? I have done everything except 4 and 5. I tried #5 but the matches wouldn't loght. 8-)
