The cars coming out of Mexico are crap as well as the trucks. This is a safety issue, not a trade issue. The free traders insist that the Mexican trucks are as good as the American trucks.

They haven't seen the trucks coming across or are just disregarding safety for their individual ideology. I'm in favor of them coming across when they get their trucks and drivers up to the standards we have in the States.

We will see our trucking companies move to Mexico to escape the taxes and higher wages we have here. This was the trend when Canadian trucks were allowed on our highways.

Canada is still subsidizing their trucks in the form of mileage benefits to further their balance of payments with the US. The Mexicans can be expected to do the same

Hey folks, Mexican cars and trucks driving north say to Phoenix are subject to the same laws anybody else is. Same as Arizonans, snowbirds, Canadians, whomever.
Your headlights don't work: you get busted. Bald tire: you get busted. Speeding: you get busted. If the cop gets hinky: everything gets checked, including bumper height.
