If you but into that "made in the USA" crap, you are buying into a scam, as most of these items are assembled from foreign made components.

It's higher than it should be, but it's nowhere near 50%...

The USA ships the material out to other countries (they include this in "exports".) They are pieced together and sent back here. (This is included as "imports".) Then finishing hand work is done and it is marked made in the USA. I still won't pay good American dollars for foreign made items. I am very careful of what I buy but it is getting harder and harder to find good American made anything.
