IT ISN'T THE CASE that the parents of John Walker Lindh - the Marin County child of privilege turned Taliban terrorist - never drew the line with their son.
True, they didn't do so when he was 14 and his consuming passion was collecting hip-hop CDs with especially nasty lyrics.

Excellent article, WW. You're right about the discipline and boundaries...scary that the lack of true parenting by "adults" is so common in our culture. What a mess the PC liberal lies have made of the generations who survived Roe v. Wade.
We now have documented, undeniable proof that putting God back in the system works. Chuck Colson's Texas prison results in a 10% recidivism rate as opposed to 70% for the general US prison population. "Juvenile delinquents" are being helped in religious settings, as are kids escaping the public schools for more disciplined study. America's saying "NO" to the ACLU. The leftist press and Profs. can dress up the language, re-write and find excuses...and we can now see clearly that it's just, as Donald Rumsfeld would say, thumbsucking.
The kid forgot to get himself elected as a Democrat first. Then you can commit rape, bribery, perjury, obstruction of justice, abuse of power and even treason without repercussions.
This kid had a similar upbringing to Clinton's and a similar attitude toward his country. If Clinton wasn't such a coward, he probabably would have gone to Hanoi to fight alongside Ho Chi Ming.
The Left is diametrically opposed to everything the Taliban represents, yet they have a lot in common. I'm reminded of how the Looney Left and the cranks on the right responded to September 11th. They start out with totally different premises and values, yet somehow both extremes reach the same conclusion -- that America was to blame.
Well said. He didn't want for material things, but was raised in a spiritually and morally dessicated environment. A plant may have good soil and plenty of water, yet it will die if there is no light. Lindh's life was spent in total darkness.
Chuck Colson is a living saint IMO. He did a lot of soulsearching after being sent to prison when he was in the Nixon White House. He dedicated his life to Christ and established a remarkable prison ministry, which has given many ex-prisoners both an example to follow and a reason to transform their lives.
Agreed! Thanks for your response, WW.
Remember that truly disgusting Rolling Stone cover with algore's airbrushed crotch that all the presstitutes just HAD to bring up and discuss at sickening length? All of that was planned deliberately to offset algore's clearly effeminate qualities of speech and manner (plus the lisp).
It's my guess that his campaign stratagists believed that he had to be made to seem more masculine than he is in order to preserve the women's vote and the minority vote. They must have been picking up something from their polling that voters were noticing his lack of masculinity.
Just hear those bombshells burst!
Johnny was trying to find himself,
But the devil found him first.
