Yeah, I loved reading and hearing him refer to himself as a 'libertarian'. Lets see he's: anti-second amendment, pro-enviornmental regulation, against domestic energy production/ANWR, against giving money to people who don't need it (tax cuts), in favor of racial quotas designed to make up for "historic injustices done to minorities", in favor of peace-keeping military operations, an advocate of campaign-finance reform that bans free speech, and on and on.

The question really ought to be, can you be any less libertarian than this guy? Libertarianism (to me) seems less an ideology than a sentiment- to believe in freedom and to believe that you have a right to it. I, like most conservatives, consider that sentiment a central tenet of my belief system. I guess that I have always viewed myself as a classic conservative (in the American sense)-- I stand balancing three equally important strains of my ideology-libertarianism, religious traditionalism and free-market capitalism.

And, I can therefore say without reservation, Bill Maher is nothing short of wacko if he honestly believes he's a libertarian. The only libertaian belief he holds is his constant criticism of government authority (and even that's fake because it's not as though it's founded on a principle he's holding fast to; in fact it's not founded on anything other than his typical, adolescent, knee-jerk dislike of anything Republican- which is what this administration is.)!

But, I can solve Bill Maher's dilemma for him- of finding out what he is- HE'S AN A$$H*LE!!! (If you're listening Bill, I hope i've been of assistance to you). If not, I tried!
