#143 copied below is the only post I could find that the passengers had been released with the exception of the one about whom the tip was received. I still can't find anything that says what the disposition of this man was. I read somewhere, can't find it now, that no decision had been made as to whether or not to quarantine this passenger. The way this story sunk like a stone left me uneasy. Who is this passenger, and what has been done with him?

UPDATE: Passengers Being Let Off Plane At Sea-Tac

SEATTLE - Passengers on board Eva Air Flight 32 are now being allowed to deplane. They were originally held on board due to a smallpox scare.

Earlier, the Newark, N.J.-bound plane was been sealed off after U.S. Customs officials in New York received an anonymous tip that the inbound 747 from Taipei, Taiwan had someone on board carrying smallpox, Port of Seattle officials told KOMO 4 News.

Health officials have evaluated the person on board who was said to have the smallpox, and say he does not exhibit any signs of the virus.

Those passengers who were supposed to debark in Seattle will be allowed off the plane. Those who were to continue on to Newark will stay on the plane.

No word yet as to the fate of the person who was said to have the disease.
