McCarthy has been written into the histroy books as a bad man doing a bad thing. Both suppositions are wrong. Mc didn't have public relations skills, as evidenced by his kneeing Drew Pierson in the groin, and he couldn't stand the idea that the American system could be flushed down the toilet and replaced by a Soviet type system.
Hillery represents a "nice" Communism, which would be so unstable, that a Soviet type Communism would evolve.
