Cool info, thanks for the post.

It's not FR, Nita. I clicked and got your "self-search". Thanks. And other people's comments to me showed up on it? Hmmmm... I just logged in again and it didn't fix it. I'd say it was my computer, but this is the 2nd computer today that's done this.
I'll just reboot. If that doesn't fix it, then it's a Vast Left-Wing Conspiracy to shut Seeking the Truth and me up. Call Richard Mellon Scaife.

You mean like the Goshen shooting today? Better live coverage on FR than any traditional media.

I hate to burst any bubbles but those small, feeble numbers under the names are the amount of votes. This poll is quite insignificant. Anything under at LEAST 10,000 votes is pretty much a school yard poll.

I have a similar malady --- when I self-search I get someone else's search page (Coop).
I haven't complained because when I hit "reload" my page comes up and everything works normally.
John, could it have something to do with the double "o" in my screen name which we both share?

Nutty stories appear here sometimes, and are promptly dismantled for the crap that they are.
On the networks, the crappy stories are presented as gospel, with nary a dissent heard.
That's typical of propaganda from the left - the people who brought us Hitler, Stalin, and Mao.
Now go away.

It may be the security settings on your computer are dumping the login cookie when you leave FR. The site looks for the cookie when you open the page and if it doesn't find it, requests that you log in. Thanks! I'll check my files. Enough, everyone. I don't want this thread to be about Nitz's cookies. ;-)
Now... If there's anyone here who is not addicted to FR as a news source, please raise your hand!
And something else... You wanna know what's so ironic about FR coming in as Number One in a poll like this? ........ Is there anyone here who isn't convinced that CNN, ABC, CBS, and NBC people lurk here to get their news? Of course, they would never admit it.
Thank you , JimRob.

You missed my subsequent comment up there. I can't find any messages TO: Nita in your self-search, either. Just posts FROM you. I don't have an explanation for that.

Instead of logging in over and over again, just save the screen as a Favorite when you're on the Self-search page. This way, you can just click on it once when you first go on FR. Thanks. Yes, I do. That link in 14 came directly from my favorites. I think everyone pretty much does that, if I'm not mistaken.
(You do have my self-search in your favorites, don't you? ;-)

Monitoring electronic media isn't controversial, and arguably constitutes original reporting anyway. It's the identity as a news source, rather than a forum than analyses and discusses news, that's risky for FR.

I've had a really bad day and this makes me feel better.
It is just all about "feelings," isn't it? That's what Bill told us.

More votes than I would have given us. We suck, thanks to R.C.

I'm convinced that the news papers lurk here to decide which stories to print. The San Diego Union Tribune has gotten to be like reading the posts of yesterdays FreeRepublic breaking news and front page news threads.
