Liberal Delaware (Gore by 13.06%) awoke the other morning to the news that gun sales are up 32% since Sept. 11, range use is up 25%, and advanced gun classes are booked through February.

The Diamond State is not alone. The FBI reports that in the month after the attacks, requests for gun-related background checks through its National Check System rose 20%. Concealed-weapons applications tripled in Texas, and, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, filings for gun-purchase background checks increased 50% in the weeks following Sept. 11. Florida news articles report "a dramatic increase in gun and ammunition purchases, particularly among women, senior citizens and first-time gun owners."

An excellent subjective, resonable assessment of gun-ownership increases.

Too bad the liberal media and the Brady Bunch will dismiss it all as "radical" and "ill-concieved."

I have noticed a lot of the knee-jerk reaction to gun ownership dissipating lately here in liberal NY. Many local gun training classes are full, with a waiting list.

No stunning revelations here, but it's good to see Pete covering this material in the pages of a newspaper with the circulation and gravitas of the Wall Street Journal.

Most folks with serious "Red Zone" mindsets didn't need to go out and buy a gun after 9/11 - they already had them. It's good to see folks in the "Blue Zone" ("Liberal Delaware - Gore by 13.06% - awoke") getting a clue.
