Yeah I was surprised-- I was watching "Boston Public" on Fox, just a stupid public school drama, and one of the student characters had an abortion, despite the teachers advising her not to... Afterwards she was crushed and despondent about her decision. That surprised me that they would write that in.
I didn't see this show since I don't have cable but on a thread a while ago someone mentioned an episode of Sex and the City where one of the characters plans to have an abortion. There is a scene where another character on the show goes to be with her to support her. This character had an abortion many years ago. She is asked how long it took her to get over it. She responds "any day now". The woman then decides to have the baby. I am not sure how exact this is because I am going by my memory of the description on the thread but it wasn't the usual lib stuff you would expect.
