"Black V" (High Time to INDICT DNC Chairman Terry McAullife!!)
Johnny Cash (w/ MUD ticklin' the ivories) ^ | 3 December 2001 | Mudboy Slim

Posted on 12/03/2001 1:46:05 AM PST by Mudboy Slim

"Here Was A Man"
(To be spoken--Johnny Cash-like--over a lonely keyboard version of "Joy to the World")

"Here was a man...a man who was born in a small village, the son of a peasant woman. He grew up in another small village. Until He reached the age of thirty, He worked as a carpenter; then, for three years, He was a travelling minister. But He never travelled more than two hundred miles from where He was born, and where He did go, He usually walked. He never held political office, He never wrote a book, He never bought a home, He never had a family, He never went to college, and He never set foot inside a big city, yet...here was a man.

Here was a man...though He never did one of those things that you usually associate with greatness, He had no credentials but Himself. He had nothing to do with this World, except through the Divine Purpose that brought Him to this World.

While He was still a young man, the Tide of Popular Opinion turned against Him. Most of His FRiends ran away...one of them denied Him, one of them betrayed Him and turned Him over to his Enemies. Then, He went through the mockery of a Trial and was nailed to a Roman Cross between two thieves. And even while He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had in this World, and that was His robe, His Purple Robe. When He was dead, He was taken down from the cross and laid in a borrowed grave, provided by a compassionate FRiend.

More than Nineteen Centuries have come and gone, and today He's the Centerpiece of the Human Race, Our Leader, and the Column to Human Destiny. And I think I'm well within the mark when I say that All of the Armies that Ever Marched, All of the Navies that Ever Sailed, All of the Legislative Bodies that Ever Sat, and All of the Kings that Ever Reigned...All of Them Put Together have not affected the Life of Man on this Earth so Powerfully as that One Solitary Life...

Here was a man."

"I just don't understand why everyone doesn't just know that "Billie" is female and "Billy" is male!"

Or maybe I do understand and call Slick "Billie" nonetheless...in any event, I know "CellMate Dwight" don't know--nor care--'bout the difference!!

      Clinton’s Cell
(To the Tune of Silver Bells)

Crazy Lib’rals, silly DemRATS
Wearing woebegone frowns,

In the air there’s a feeling of Justice

Freepers laughing, Right wing glowing,
Meeting smile after smile.
And on every newsstand you read:

Clinton’s cell, Clinton’s cell
Soon Slick will be incarcerated

Ring-a-ling, slam the klink

Finally o’ Slick has been convicted.

Actually, I liked these lyrics to Here Was A Man very much. Great stuff for the Christmas season.

Now I kind of wish I could hear Cash's version. He has a certain way with words and that gravelly bass voice.

Muchas Gracias, mi amigo...it does seem like Lib'rals are not enjoying this Holiday Season as much this year as their boy, Osama bil Clinton gets his hat handed to him in Afghanistan and li'l Tommie D'A$$#0LE is beginning to get lambasted by Limbaugh, Dubyuh, etal. on the Economic Stimulus Package!! 2002's gonna be a GOOD YEAR Fer Conservatives...which means it'll be a very good year fer America!!

"I liked these lyrics to Here Was A Man very much."

Just to be clear, those are Cash's original lyrics...all I did was transcribe them...MUD

BTW...Johnny C. does do justice to the lyrics.

I've a metal plate in my skull for making that error.
The Kid got off easy; because we love him so.
While for me?
As I'd said, she wasn't amused.

Ha! I love all your improvements...except one. No dubya as the scarecrow...in the movie he had to wait till the end to prove he had a brain. Dubya would be going in having proved it...ruins the movie. I like all your other changes.

Hey, that's a pretty cool music site.

I loathe you. Slick Willie, I loathe ya. Ay!

[Guitar Solo]

Oh, oh, oh oh oh oh, make Slick a Prison 'Ho!!

Gotta love lyrics like that. One must know the original intonations to really appreciate 'em.

In the original, the Scarecrow proves throughout the movie that he has a brain...he's IdeaCentral!! IMHO, Dubyuh had a pretty good idea he'd be Prez when he won his first Texas Gubernatorial Race, but didn't go out of his way to dispel the rumors that he was a bumblin' idiot at first, in part, because it helped prove what LIARS the Leftist Medyuh really is!! The Scarecrow demonstrates that everybody's got an innate capacity fer Wisdom...and I believe Bush, Jr. may just have that Innate Western-StyleWisdom as well. Dutch sho' 'nuff had it!!

"...that's a pretty cool music site."

Yep...my rhythm guitarist/sound engineer, "Fingers" Vesuvius, hooked me up with that site and a few others which have made parody/FReepin' much more efficient. I used to have to transcribe everything out and we'd have to spend a while gettin' the notes just right on various songs...now I can go directly into the rewrite, thereby increasing productivity.

"Gotta love lyrics like that."

Thanks...LedZep was always my favorite band in my teenage years, so I'm almost too intimidated to FReep their songs; however, I've recently determined that almost every song on "Houses of the Holy" would make a great parody, so look fer more Zeppelin in the not-too-distant future. "No Quarter" works equally well with the OmarTheWhacko and Osama bil Clinton!!!

"UVA Football shall be ranked #1 by 2004...SITYS!!!"

Yep...re-confirmed prediction...

"Because they succeeded in recruiting some sow who likes to eat?"

No, because we have recruited a Bevy Of BrawnyBrutes/Student-Athletes this year with more on the way...as seen HERE!!

Kwakou "Dwight" Robinson, 6'4", 315-pound DT from New York...he and D'Brick were ranked #1 and #2 in New York overall!! The Yanks mightta stolen Giambi from the A's, but UVA's snaggin' some plum recruits from the Empire State!!

FReegards...MudboyHoo?! BTW..."Are you in for a rude awakening."

Not if I can help it!! And...

!!:o)!!.....Nice comb-over...LOL!!!!

"Robinson is the fourth SuperPrep All-American commitment for the Cavaliers in a 48-hour span. Out of 20 commitments thus far for Virginia, 17 of them are rated either four-star (6) or three-star (11) prospects as listed by Rivals100. There are a few more All-American prospects listing the Cavaliers in their top two. They include five star recruits Ahmad Brooks (LB), Kai Parham (LB), Michael Johnson, Jr. (RB), Marcus Vick (QB) and four star recruits Marcus Hamilton (DB), Maurice Stovall (WR), Brian Mattes (TE), Shadu Moore (OL) and Jonathan Lewis (DL)."

George Welsh was the best football coach in UVA history, but Al Groh and his Coaching Tribe shall take the Hoos to another level altogether, IMHO!!

National Champions or BUST!!!

Sorry Mud, I'm a transplant to VA. Born and raised in Lexington, KY and grad of U. of Kentucky. Stick me and I bleed blue. Renouncing my loyalty to UK is sorta like renouncing my US citizenship...LOL!

'Course, football at Kentucky is a joke. We keep thinking we'll have a team....well maybe someday......

Gotta root for Penn State (My School). Jo Pa is king!

Also for Ole Miss, where lotsa my money has gone the past few years.

But I admit ACC Basketball is worth watching; but as for football, only wish the local TV outlets would stop pre-empting blockbuster Big 10 or SEC games with meaningless ACC contests. Sometimes I hafta scream when the "big" Wake Forest/NC State game is on and I am missing Michigan/Ohio State.
