"Black V" (High Time to INDICT DNC Chairman Terry McAullife!!)
Johnny Cash (w/ MUD ticklin' the ivories) ^ | 3 December 2001 | Mudboy Slim

Posted on 12/03/2001 1:46:05 AM PST by Mudboy Slim

"Here Was A Man"
(To be spoken--Johnny Cash-like--over a lonely keyboard version of "Joy to the World")

"Here was a man...a man who was born in a small village, the son of a peasant woman. He grew up in another small village. Until He reached the age of thirty, He worked as a carpenter; then, for three years, He was a travelling minister. But He never travelled more than two hundred miles from where He was born, and where He did go, He usually walked. He never held political office, He never wrote a book, He never bought a home, He never had a family, He never went to college, and He never set foot inside a big city, yet...here was a man.

Here was a man...though He never did one of those things that you usually associate with greatness, He had no credentials but Himself. He had nothing to do with this World, except through the Divine Purpose that brought Him to this World.

While He was still a young man, the Tide of Popular Opinion turned against Him. Most of His FRiends ran away...one of them denied Him, one of them betrayed Him and turned Him over to his Enemies. Then, He went through the mockery of a Trial and was nailed to a Roman Cross between two thieves. And even while He was dying, His executioners gambled for the only piece of property He had in this World, and that was His robe, His Purple Robe. When He was dead, He was taken down from the cross and laid in a borrowed grave, provided by a compassionate FRiend.

More than Nineteen Centuries have come and gone, and today He's the Centerpiece of the Human Race, Our Leader, and the Column to Human Destiny. And I think I'm well within the mark when I say that All of the Armies that Ever Marched, All of the Navies that Ever Sailed, All of the Legislative Bodies that Ever Sat, and All of the Kings that Ever Reigned...All of Them Put Together have not affected the Life of Man on this Earth so Powerfully as that One Solitary Life...

Here was a man."

"65% of Americans name FreeRepublic.com as their Most-Trusted Source of News (On-Line Poll Says)"

That's marvelous!

Later in the evening, as you lie awake in bed...
With the echoes of EX-Prez'dent's lies...ringin' in your head...
How you try, but you just can't forget...
All your forefathers who bled...
They bled for you...we didn't want a King...

Very good, Mud. Thanks!

"This Blessed Ground"
(To be sung to Bruce Springsteen's "My Hometown")

I was six years old, American flag in my hand...
Dockside, watched that ship return my Pa from Viet Nam.
Ma cried, then laughed, 'cuz he'd made it through it...
We cheered as Dad's feet touched ground...
He tousled my hair, said, "Son, take a good look around...
This here's Blessed Ground, and it's your home now,
Do your Country proud, this is your hometown!"

Back in Ninety-Five, Prez'dent's tellin' lies and breakin' rules!
Political fights between The Wrong and The Right...
Networks treat us like we're fools.
As Justice obstructs, Clinton passes the buck,
While sellin' secrets to Commie scum...
Algore grasps their illegal cash, sordid times had come...
To our Country...Won't you see? Liberty, it ain't free!!

Now White House's stonewallin' Congress, showin' no remorse...
Seems like there ain't nobody values Character no more.
Still, we're closin' in to prove Slick's guilt, while Elitists fret...
FReepers say, "These Bums're already TOAST, they just don't know it YET!!"
It's our turn now, let's show 'em how...
To devolve Power, to your hometown.

So, Right, don't delay, seize the day, condemn Bill's Tyranny!
Forcin' out these crooks, it's OUR Destiny!
I'm Thirty-Five, got two kids of my own now...
Last night, set 'em up o'erlookin' the Sea..
I said, "Kids, take a good look around...this here's Blessed Ground!"

Mudboy Slim

--------------------------------------------------

Please pardon the vanity; however, with two young children, my wife and I don't get to the movies much anymore and I'm just getting around to watching "Saving Private Ryan." I must say, while I can't stand Spielberg's politics, he does tell one Hell of a story. As coincidence would have it, we rented this movie on Memorial Day weekend, and I was floored by the sacrifice our forefathers made in the fight against Tyranny and Injustice. My hat is off to all those Freepers out there who have fought in defense of our Country and our Liberty, as well as those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. To quote Abraham Lincoln, "I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice on the Altar of Freedom."

And to those of you who are losing heart in our ongoing battle against Tyranny and Injustice in our own Country, please remember the sacrifices our predecessors made...and realize that Bill Clinton is no match for the progeny of our honored forebears.

"...libs check out these threads on a regular basis..."

You'd think they would, if they had a clue. I hope so, because I'm sure there are folks out there who joined the DemonRAT Party just because their parents were RATS, or they liked Julia Roberts or Richard Gere or some other TWIT who told them "Republicans are BAD!!" Fact is, the Right is defined by Compassion while the Left pretends to be but is all about the accumulation of Power--political and otherwise--in the hands of an Effete Elite few. Let the IGNORANT Lib'rals learn the Truth and many will flock to our side. As for the VILE Lib'ral Leadership who has fooled America with their lies for the last 35+ years, well, we're gonna make them hurt in places they didn't even know existed!!!!

"...unfortunately, I think we have some amongst us..."

I disagree, my FRiend...most are pretty easy to spot and more easily-refuted, and they can make for some interesting threads that demonstrate for the Lurkers how INANE and VACUOUS the Left's positions really are. And the beauty of FreeRepublic.com is that eventually most Lib'rals get over-agitated at our relentless refutation of everything they hold dear and go ballistic, break FReeper Rules of Conduct, and are GONE!! It's gonna take a little bit longer to rid ourselves of the Tom "Puff" Daschles, the Dickie Gephardts, the Tom Leahys, and the Ted Kennedy's, but their time is coming as well!! You simply CANNOT DEFEND THE INDEFENSIBLE like they've DEFENDED THE EX-TRAITOR-IN-CHIEF without ultimately being discovered as the FRAUD you are!!

LOL...Controversy makes for good thread traffic...MUD

"The Boldness of One Party Increases as They Find the Other Fearful!!"

"April 3, 1943

"...A guy gets in some serious thinking out here...sometimes when I happen to be walking along alone, say for instance at night, I stop and say, "Well, Bob, you are in a heck of a fix. What are you doing here? Do you remember how you laughed at the idea of ever bearing arms...?" It's the fellows that have gone before us who make us willingly bear our burdens. Dear God, spare our lives for we are young and love life so much. This is just a short incident in a fellow's life, I tell myself, and soon it will be behind me and I will have forgotten it, and settle down amongst you again.

"...This is one game I'm going to best. I know. When I played baseball I never wanted to sit on the bench, always wanted to play the whole game. And here, too, I'm going out every time, and while I'm playing this game, I'm going to play hard, and to win."

A very happy Friday night to you, MUD. So the 'most trusted news source' poll's host website was discredited in the end, sad. The end does not justify the means. When are the Dems. going to get it.
