The KMT stole tons of artifacts from the Mainland, including "si ku chuan su". What Taiwan donated is what the KMT should return to the Mainland.

You probably don't because the way you are educated. My mother was in Beijing 6/2/1989 to try to bring my late uncle back to home, but 6/4 prevented that from happening.

They may also be planning a quick airborne assault on a small island now part of the ROC, thinking neither the ROC or the USA would respond vigorously. This would be mainly political in thrust, to fit the long-term goal of subverting the will of the ROC to resist a later, larger move.
The CCP and PLA, of course, calculate they still have a lot of time to work with.
