At least we know where the Houston Chronicle's sympathies lie. Houston's Rat paper of record is undoubtedly relieved its all over. Now they can look forward to Lee P. Brown handing out the goodies after he secured their endorsement...

One of the precinct judges was "missing" for five hours. She finally showed up with what she said were 950 votes. When asked where she had been she told the reporter, "It just hard tabulatin' all dem votes." True story! I'd bet there was voter fraud like you ain't never seen! Polls showed it would come down to a few hundred votes but it appears Brown will win by 10,000 votes. As long as the dems are in charge of the precincts we'll never be able to win.

And of course the reporter didn't ask her why she was "tabulatin'" votes. She's not supposed to be counting votes.

Pathetic.

Disheartening to know there are places in the U.S. like Houston willing to elect governing officials based on race-baiting, personal slander, mischaracterizations, raising taxes, denying dubious backgrounds, lying -- wait a minute! Isn't that the modus operandi of Democrats during nearly EVERY major election??

To my fellow FReepers, I'm tired of losing. Something must be done to win elections. Period. We MUST come up with a plan to actually win elections. Symbolic victories do nothing. You must be in power to change the agenda. We have lost too many elections recently. This has to end. And frankly I'm sick and tired of the "its cool to lose elections wing of the party."

I always liked Houston. I just don't want to go back with all the dead people out and about voting. Who knows what else they will do. Zombies give me the chills. < /sarcasm>

With Brown's "win" one thing is clear. In the form of Lee Brown, racism was the true "winner" tonight.

That alone should be disturbing to any sane and reasonable person.

An early look at the district returns indicates voter fraud is highly likely.

District D, currently held by race hustling crack fiend Jew Don Boney, had abnormally high turnout in voters at over 36%. Total turnout for everybody who voted is estimated to be in the 27-30% range. All other districts were consistent with that turnout EXCEPT for Boney's.

And yes, to any freepers unfamiliar with Mr. Boney, "Jew Don" is his real name.

And just for fun, here's a little humorous fact about John Williams, the author of the commie chronicle's article.

Throughout the campaign, Williams tried desparately to tie Orlando Sanchez to Dr. Steven Hotze, a Falwell-esque fundie activist in Houston who has lots of enemies, even among conservatives. Williams' only link that he could ever establish was that Hotze had simply voted for Sanchez, but nevertheless he wrote an entire article attempting to link sanchez to hotze, plus parts of several other articles. Just to show how lazy and inept, not to mention biased, Williams is as a reporter, please consider the following excerpts collected from his articles on Hotze and Sanchez:

"Hotze, chairman of Conservative Republicans of Harris County, has fought against gay rights and abortion for more than 15 years while urging that government adhere to the moral directives of "biblical Christianity." "(JOHN WILLIAMS, HOUSTON CHRONICLE 11/12)

"Hotze, chairman of Conservative Republicans of Harris County, has fought against gay rights and abortion for more than 15 years while urging that government adhere to the moral directives of "biblical Christianity.""(JOHN WILLIAMS, HOUSTON CHRONICLE 11/14)

"Hotze, chairman of Conservative Republicans of Harris County, has fought against gay rights and abortion for more than 15 years while urging that government adhere to the moral directives of "biblical Christianity."" (JOHN WILLIAMS, HOUSTON CHRONICLE 11/15)

"Brown has aired commercials calling Sanchez "an extremist" and an ally of Christian right activist Steven Hotze , who urges that government adhere to the moral directives of "biblical Christianity."" (JOHN WILLIAMS, HOUSTON CHRONICLE 11/25)

"Hotze has fought against gay rights and abortion for more than 15 years while urging that government adhere to the moral directives of "biblical Christianity."" (JOHN WILLIAMS, HOUSTON CHRONICLE 11/27)

Williams sure has the cut and paste function on his keyboard figured out!
