The fact of the matter is that the IRS and FBI have already gone after Scientologists, Moonies, Christian Identity Separatists and other fringe cults, none of whom in total on their worst day, pose the threat to national security which radical Islamists do on their best day.

Much like the no prayer is school rules which exempt Islamists, the current patchwork of civil liberties rules exempt the political well-connected as well.

If we cannot go back to the respect for the Bill of Rights practiced under Thomas Jefferson, the least we could do is revert to the J. Edgar Hoover era when groups were target based on their threat to America rather than on their lack of connections and political muscle.

I'm sorry, but if you're trying to make a case against investigational excesses, you'll have to do a lot better than that. You're not apt to get much (if any) sympathy from anyone who isn't a member of one of those outfits.

Since I don't want to be harassed into oblivion by lawsuits, or have my house burned down, or get shot in the back, I won't say anything further about those Fine Patriotic Organizations.
