BILL CAMPBELL – EMBARRASSING ATLANTA AGAIN
There’s a meeting going on in Atlanta that’s getting virtually no notice locally. Too bad. The people of Atlanta need to see just how their sleazy mayor, Bill Campbell, is embarrassing them yet again.
The meeting is called the State of the Black World Conference. Although it has been on the drawing boards since the beginning of the year, attendance is nowhere near what the organizers expected. The rhetoric is rising to world championship levels however.
Let’s start with Campbell’s welcome speech. Now, remember. Campbell is an infamous race warlord. He’s the one who once said (not kidding here!) that there was not one black person in America who has ever accomplished anything worthwhile without the help of an affirmative action program. He also announced that the people traveling to Atlanta in the Summer of 1996 were not coming here to see the Olympics, but to take part in an African-American experience.
OK --- now to Campbell’s welcome statements. Campbell said “ .. while the rest of the country waves the flag of Americana, we understand we are not part of that.”
Well, what Campbell calls “the flag of Americana” is actually the Flag of the United States. So Campbell is telling the crowd “we are not a part of the United States.” That’s a pretty good start to the meeting, don’t you think?
Then Al (The Liar) Sharpton steps to the microphone. He tells the crowd “We don’t owe America anything; America owes us.” Looks like our comic-relief 2004 presidential candidate is beating the drums of reparations.
Jesse Jackson? You bet! The Sloganmaster was there too! Now Jackson has had a few public relations debacles in the past months.
First there was his fabrication of an invitation from the Taliban to rush over to Afghanistan for urgent negotiations. As soon as the Taliban made it clear that (1) they didn’t invite him anywhere, and (2) they weren’t even sure who the hell he was … Jackson ran for the hills leaving his staff to mutter something about who invited who wasn’t really the issue here.
Then there was Jackson’s warning to the parents of America that they had better not let their children go out trick-or-treating on Halloween night. Jackson cited the cases that happen “every year” of children being horribly wounded by tricked-up candy and such. Turned out that it just wasn’t so. There’s only one documented case in the last 25 years of a child being injured by tainted candy received from a stranger. So – Jackson slinks off again.
Well, he’s back, and he’s sounding an old theme. That theme is that there is some grand white conspiracy out there to discredit black leadership. Jackson told the gathering that the new anti-terrorism laws being passed by congress are really part of a the movement to dethrone current black leadership. Jackson said “We are in danger. The extreme right wing has seized the government. The right-wing media, the FBI, they are targeting our leadership” Notice, please, the use of the word “seized.”
You do realize, don’t you, that Jackson uses his so-called “leadership” position as a lever to shake down corporate America for huge amounts of cash. The Jackson MO.
Then we have someone named Sonia Sanchez. She’s listed as an “author and civil rights activist” from Philadelphia. Sanchez, too, tried to find a way to use the terrorist attacks on America to further her agenda. Of the hardships the people of New York are now experiencing Sanchez said “White people are now enduring the black experience.” Hey, Sonia. Take a look at the crime statistics. Look at the percentage of violent crime in this country that is perpetrated by black males. It’s not just white people … some would say that all American citizens have been enduring the black experience for some time.
We’ll see what they have to say at today’s meetings. Look for the reparations issue to get full attention. We’ll report more on Monday!

Boy, that Sharpton really knows how to launch a presidential campaign so as to get beyond his base of the incredibly stupid and credulous who also happen to have some African blood. It will be interesting to see how the blame and hate America's and Europe's "whiteys" for everything message can form the base for a "rainbow coalition".
