That's super! I wish I had that kind of logic. I'm the creative type. If something doesn't work, I just use duct tape.

Reminds me of a friend's motto...
     You only need 2 tools in your toolbox; duct tape and WD-40. If it moves and
     it shouldn't, put duct tape on it. If it doesn't move and it should, spray some
     WD-40 on it.
