Years ago I decided to track every penny spent, and I was absolutely amazed how much went to snack food while in town. Starting bring food with us, much cheaper and more healthy anyway.
What would we do without FR?
I even dreamed I was freeping last night, not for the first time. Didn't have any breaking news, though.
"Years ago I decided to track every penny spent, and I was absolutely amazed how much went to snack food while in town. Starting bring food with us, much cheaper and more healthy anyway."
Once a year, the office, where my wife works, has meetings and updates on their 401k. Every year, many of the other women complain that they can't afford to participate. The complainers are usually the Starbucks's group. They stop at Starbucks for coffee and a pastry, $5 to ?$'s. Then, they go to out to lunch for $7 to ?'s. She points out each year that their Starbuck stop and outside lunch is about equal to her full 401k withholding per day. Without suffering, we have Starbucks at home, she packs a great lunch.
You and my point is that giving up a fast food stop or a Starbuck stop once a week and donating that money to FR is not a sacrifice.
"What would we do without FR?"
I would be permanently depressed with being able to get the truth and great stories from my fellow freepers.
Besides the news, Freepers are having a real impact with others in getting the truth out there.
All we ask is 17 cents a day or $5/month as a pledge.
The other alternative is to cancel the left wing newspaper that many Freepers subscribe to and send the monthly savings to Free Republic. This is a double whammy to the left. The Fishwrap/Canary cage liner loses revenue and a subscriber, and Free Republic gains a new monthly donor to become stronger.
