That snippet from Golddigger's article says it all...neocons just want to pacify the Right. Sure, he says, a little gun control never hurt anyone, be happy, eat, eat! Eat, and never mind that conservatives used to oppose free trade, and lots of other things we should just be cheerful about. After all, we won the Cold War, which didn't have to happen since the Soviets never had much power anyway...after all, who could win with Somalia and Vietnam on your side up against Japan and W. Europe?
