Inspector: What was the situation with you? I've been looking over freerepublic for a long time and it seems to me that it should either go away, or become a place where free speech is protected, versus throwing people off that are not in lock step with the views of the few who actually run this view. Someone like Laz, who takes up so much bandwidth that he should pay 1/2 of the monthly freerepublic expense, is one of those people who have more than one vote. 90% of all posts are meaningless, virtually 100% of all replies are responsive to a meaningless post, but as long as there is no disagreement all is O.K.
I think people should pay by the word to off-set expenses at freerepublic. That way, perhaps only meaningful articles and replies would be posted and it would not be necessary to wade through all the garbage posted to this site to get to some insight that may be helpful.
Although there are apparently a lot of members, as cited by Robinson, I'll bet that 5% of the membership post 75% to 80% of articles and replies. There are some members that post 40-50 replies each day! What about a maximum number of posts?
That's the problem with this site, no standards, and no free speech. I can see why people get upset.
