It is a crime if you are not making a profit here Huh?
Jim's an 18th century sorta guy, I guess. The sort willing to lay down his life and his fortune for what's right.
Perhaps you've been confused by our current state of affairs into thinking those that "fight the good fight" should always stand to make some money on the deal.

Oh horse feathers! Jim is obviously 'donating' a huge portion of his life while you and I and 99% of FReepers don't even come close to that. It's not fair. This site isn't JUST about some 'Cause'. Most of us are just having fun most of the timne. It's entertainment and you know it. YOU are one of the most serrious and one of the most effective activists here but don't think that's why most of the others are here. No matter what BS they tell themselves. It's up to JR how much of his blood sweat and tears he is willing to donate to the cause but WE have no right to expect everything from him. Personally I think he should be paying himself at least 150k a year to run FR.

OTOH, "thou shalt not muzzle the ox as he treadeth out the grain" hasn't been revoked. (Nor do soldiers have to pay their own way in battle.)

Should always? Nah. Should in general? Heck yeah.
Making money is an incentive and a reward. In a perfect world, people should be rewarded for fighting the good fight. It would give incentive for more people to fight the good fight.
What can I say? I am a capitalist.
