The Toon got elected because he's a immoral narcissist who lied, frightened, and charmed his way in, had the mainstream media cheerleading for him, and Bush, a principled and civilized man, chose to not challenge the buffoon. Also, the selection of The Toon says an awful lot about the character (more accurately--the lack thereof) of the American electorate. Are people lining up to hire Carville to be their point person any more? I don't see him making appearances--looks like a downfall to me. Perhaps there is justice?

Carville has been out of the public eye BECAUSE Mary works in the White House. Overseas jobs, however, is amother thing. I believe he respects his wife. That is why he didn't campaign for Gore...and why Mary is still married to him. IOW, he had his time in the spotlight and now it is her turn.
As far as his ability to get someone elected to any office, he's been proven to be brilliant. He got an unknown (insert all of the expletive deleteds here) Gov. from Arkansas into the White House. And, I can understand his loyalty to the Toon (Clintoon was his ticket), but he is still on the wrong side...any way you cut it.
