[history]
In his mind's eye, the image of what Jose Antonio Serra saw in a burned patch of jungle on the Amazon's edge is still chillingly fresh -- not because the murder happened just seven weeks ago, but because there are some things a father can never forget.
What he found, a short walk from his family's mud hut, were the remains of his 13-year-old son: a figure on its knees, head buried in the dirt, genitals and middle figure removed with cuts that looked almost surgical. In shock, Serra noticed an odd detail: The mutilated body looked diminished, even shrunken. Then he noticed the gash in the boy's jugular vein, and realized that his blood had been drained.

...drinks the blood of a unicorn to gain some kind of power. Actually I believe the blood is life sustaining, not a source of power, but that's beside the point.
But, for the record, he is the evil guy. And the drinking of blood is a bad thing. Harry does not drink blood.

Probably looking for another thread where it will be easy to speak out and say that there is no such thing as witchcraft. It is easy to see Mr. Vega's god. Just remember one day Our Father will send His Son to take care of Mr. Vega's father.

Notice that the obscene self-mutilation in Harry Potter is an attempt to gain power But as you continue to omit, it's the evil one trying to gain power by the drinking of the blood. It is clearly presented as evil in both the book and the movie.

Where can I find a unicorn. I needs its blood for the spells i learned in Harry Potter.
To: MSCASEY
Where might I obtain a unicorn? I really need the blood of one ASAP to cast a spell on a coworker.
To: MSCASEY
Because Harry does not drink blood he is not a bad guy. That is why lieing, stealing, and breaking rules only to be rewarded are okay, because Harry does not drink blood. And his spells are okay. They are good spells. And pigs can fly too!

Just remember one day Our Father will send His Son to take care of Mr. Vega's father. And if that condemning statement isn't straight from the pit, I don't know what is.
Regardless of what you think of Mr. Vega and of Harry Potter, no one set you up to judge where one spends eternity.
You have a strange way with evangelism.

Where might I obtain a unicorn? I think the lesbians got all of them...or was it the Lebanese?
To: Phantom Lord
Why don't you use something simalar to a mandrake. But don't let it grow up before you chop it up and stew it because it might fight back. Maybe you should leave it at the baby stage as the satanist do!

we should see a huge upsurge of self-mutilation, shouldn't we? My concern is that children are being exposed/desensitized to obscene violence and horrific occult practices.
To: Phantom Lord
Not to worry, babies blood works just as good. HP, witchcraft and this has no connection, just move on folks. It's just about Christian overreaction!
Prayers for GW and the Truth!

And his spells are okay. They are good spells. They are fake spells. The children can see that; why can't you?
Of course you could always prove me wrong. Let's see you do the spells.

But as you continue to omit, it's the evil one trying to gain power by the drinking of the blood. And in that great work of children's film-making, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, it's the evil one who's chopping people up.
The point is, young children are being exposed and desensitized to obscene violence and horrific occult practices.
Can't wait for book 5.

Regardless of what you think of Mr. Vega and of Harry Potter, no one set you up to judge where one spends eternity. MCASEY's reference to "Mr. Vega's father" was a reference to Mr. Vega's spiritual father/god, Satan. Which is a reasonable conclusion considering that we may "judge a tree by its fruit."
To: Aquinasfan
OK, but you will have a tough time proving that case. How will you measure "desensitization"? In other words, how can I tell that 1)this effect occurred and 2)Harry Potter is the cause?
Does this effect occur even if the viewer knows it isn't real?
Also, your use of the words "obscene violence and horrific occult practices" is IMO overkill.
