Try F-18 or F-14 pilots. The Air Force tactical types are out of this show. Unless they have basing rights and prepositioned turnkey support materiel, they are bench-warmers. Now the Buffs are another matter. May they live forever.

I'm sure you're right on the AF vs. Navy thing. The article mentioned F-16's and I think this is only flown by the AF. But after I posted, I did think that probably it is the Navy Fly Boys who are competing for this singular honor. Oh, well, don't think inter service rivalry is likely to disappear anytime soon, and that's probably a good thing.
