National sovereignty means a government control over arbitrarily drawn territory because of the genetic or other inbred characteristics of some (never all) individuals. Try to have national sovereignty without a national government, then tell me how it isn't a statist construct. So you are suggesting then that even our Republic is statist in nature.

Yes, if our Republic uses the concept of national sovereignty to trample upon individual rights, then it is statist. Traditionally it hasn't been as it upheld, by and large, free flow of commerce, foreign investment, and free immigration. Gradually, with establishment of antiduiscrimination laws, the welfare state, public education and a national pension plan, it became more and more like a European nation-state.
