I don't think the problem is with the scriptures as originally written, but with editorial policies of scribes and translators shading and tweaking and in some instances adding verses wholesale. However with constant comparison one can dig for the gold and indeed find it. Ps.34:8 "O taste and see that Yahweh is good: blessed is the man that trusts in him."

On the same note , context is vital in proper exegesis, and we all at times want to lift a "zip code" to make a point. Add it all up and you get lots of ideas from folks of different "faith traditions".
