Now that we have proven that plants are capable of suffering, does this mean that vegetarians are now going to have to starve to death? I've always felt that vegetarians were particularly cruel. I mean, at least animals can run, swim or fly away to avoid becoming a meal, but a plant just has to sit there and wait to be harvested.

I have actually given some thought to this subject. I'm puzzled why anything would evolve to that situation.

Love tomatoes... Don't mind the sitting duck targets. Yeah, that Steak I am eating with tomatoes had no idea that he was going to be slaughtered, I mean, out in the pasture all day long, but you know, it tastes good, and it is sustinence. Man, it is good to be on top of the food chain. :-)
