Anyone who opposes drilling there needs to take a really good look at the terrain there. Alternate uses for this "pristine" site are:
1. Nuclear weapons test site.
2. A good place to exile the Clintons to.
3. With all of their apologists.
3. A freeze-dried version of Afghanistan.
4. If God were to give the earth an enema, the tip for it would go in the ANWR.

6. An internment camp for Hollywood political hacks (i.e. Alec Baldwin, Robert Redford, Babs Streisand....)

You remind me of a friend of mine who visited me when I was living in a remote desert hamlet. He was on motorcycle, and went back home via (as I recall) the 395, past California's Mojave desert.

He later told me that as he was passing through mile after mile of, well, mile after mile, he thought to himself, "About the only thing this land would be good for would be testing bombs."

I've been to Deadhorse, and the locals tell me it looks just like ANWR. It is a $hithole and a perfect spot for a little petroleum extraction. Over twenty years ago the nay-sayers were telling us Prudhoe Bay held only a miniscule amount of oil. It is still producing. Let's drill and build another Caribou-warming pipeline!
