Thanks for the ping

But I really want it!!! I hear that from my kids all the time. I understand, but!

A lot of arabs lost their homes when Israel took over their land. So, some of them ended up here. What do you expect them to say? In all honesty, are you kidding me? If you want to support one nation screwing another, that's ok. More power to you. BUT if you're going to talk the talk, then you damn well better walk the walk. Because some of them are going to come after you. Plain as day. The US government has had and still has a list of policies that have positive effects on some part of the world population, and negative effects on others. All it takes is for some of the disgruntled people to come over here and kill you for it.

Is it safe to let Vietnamese over here? Is it?

Some of my anscestors were German. I feel no compulsion to equivocate when condemning Nazism.

Others of my family tree were Irish, who've suffered tremendously at the hands of the British over the centuries. I am perfectly able to condemn IRA terror without equivocating over the word "but."

I expect Arabs and Moslems everywhere to do the same. I especially expect it of those in the United States. Notice in my essay, I didn't mention street celebrations around the Islamic world, even in America, at the news of the carnage on 9/11. I won't hold whole peoples accountable for the bloodthirsty idiots among them.

I will hold them accountable when those I would expect to be reasonable fail to condemn the bloodlust.

Nor did I mention the lucrative fundraising tours of American Moslem communities and mosques in America during the 90s by Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri of the Islamic Jihad, for the purpose of supporting terrorist activity. I won't hold whole peoples accountable for failing to thwart an international criminal conspiracy.

I will hold them accountable when those I would expect to be reasonable fail to condemn the conspiracy, and fail to use their proximity to root out the evil in their midst.

My condemnation is amed at the religion of Islam, which holds hundreds of millions in such submissive thrall that they can't condemn an act of inhumanity by their own without equivocation. The burden is upon them to show the rest of the world where their loyalties are, because no philosophy, ideology, or religion is as uniformly brutal through such a kaleidoscope of countries as is Islam.

If you want to support one nation screwing another, that's ok. More power to you.

No country in the West screws over Moslems as much as Islamic countries. America and Israel and the West grant more freedoms and opportunities than any Islamic nation offers to its own citizens. Shall we discuss how Islamic nations treat Christians and Jews?

Yet it is the West that is hated.

When Israel and Jordan were partitioned, Israel welcomed Jews from east of the Jordan River. Jordan did not reciprocate in welcoming "Palestinians" from the West oof the Jordan. Had Jews remained in Jordan after 1948, would they have been treated as well as peaceful Arabs have been in Israel since then?

Hardly.

How much religious freedom did Jordan allow to Christians and Jews in East Jerusalem prior to 1967? Nothing compared to what Isarael has allowed Arabs since they took East Jerusalem in self-defense during the Six Day War.

BUT if you're going to talk the talk, then you damn well better walk the walk. Because some of them are going to come after you. Plain as day.

I'm aware of this. I've also become aware that nothing I do or don't do will prevent this. Some prefer to nurse grudges.

When they come after us, we will kill them.

The US government has had and still has a list of policies that have positive effects on some part of the world population, and negative effects on others. All it takes is for some of the disgruntled people to come over here and kill you for it.

There will always be complaints. We can all find anscestral axes to grind. What's the point?

Woe unto anyone foolish enough to try and kill the United States of America.

I'm reading an interesting book by Leon Uris called The Haj. Uris is, of course, a supporter of the Jews, but [there's that word again! LOL!] in his telling of the story of pre-WWII Palestine, the Jews paid outrageous prices to the landlord owners of Palestine (who were NOT local and were affiliated with the Ottomans, BTW) for the land they built their kibbutzim on.

Now correct me if I'm wrong here. It appears to me that the Palestinians who want to exterminate the Israelis are bent on simple bloodyhanded theft and murder. Or would they honor the Israeli land purchases once they attained control of the region? (I believe pigs would fly, first...)
