The one thing that caused me to reject a literal 1000 years after Jesus comming, was the bible leave many questions unanswered about what happens after the 1000 years 1.) Why does the bible not mention a resurrection of the millennial saints? The second death has power over them who take part in the second resurrestion! 2.) why would Jesus reign in a literal kingdom for 1000 years on this pitiful dying earth? 3.) Why do we have to want 1000 years for a new heaven and new earth? 4.) why would Jesus make his people suffer the effects of crying, death and pain for 1000 years? and many many more
Accepting, as I do, basic dispensational premises... the 1,000 year reign as a period of fulfillment of the Abrahamic covenant with Israel makes sense to me.
I never have been one to set dates or try to fit the details of the news into a prophetic chart. However, I do believe the return of Israel to the land (in a state of unbelief) in 1948 was an event of tremendous biblical significance.
