I dont believe its theater. I believe many people fear islam, although muslims have proven over and over again they are the worlds biggest cowards. Many Americans and unfortunately our President who I voted for although he is more liberal then I seem to have been misled by somebody. Since Muslim countries do not have a free press no matter how much we kiss their behinds, their hate will still be there. Remember to them we are infidels. Do you believe that our president would really stage this? I dont. Imagine Christians, Jews or hindus praying at Mecca, will never happen so why should they be allowed to set foot in the White House or in this country.

I agree. This is all simply window dressing to underline the fact that this is a war against terrorism and not against Islam.

Bush has done a brilliant job in exploiting divisions within the Muslim community for the purpose of isolating the fanatics...specifically the Taliban, Bin Laden, Al-Qaida etc.

What real harm can come from this gesture? None that I can see. It costs Bush nothing and can bring great benifits in minimizing the resistance we get in this war against Islamic militant extremists.
