From long talks to long walks, from cutting nuclear arsenals to chopping cedar, from limousines to "Gators", the U.S.-Russia summit goes casual and gets personal as it moves to President Bush's ranch.
President Bush made a statement late this evening regarding the rescue of the eight humanitarian workers in Afghanistan. Bush said that the rescue was coordinated with the Afghanis and local Red Cross officials. The eight workers are now safe in Pakistan. Wnjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Does anybody know what that is on the front of Mrs. Putin's sweater? Is it feathers?
I just love that last picture in #10!

He looks like he LOVES to be driving again! I imagine that's not something he gets to do very often. Probably drives the SS nuts!

Look at the look on Laura's face when Putin's wife gave her the yellow rose. What a thoughtful gesture, a yellow rose of Texas.
They're going to have such a great time!

I can't tell if you're kidding or not!! I bet Dubya has been dying to drive his truck all this time...a man misses driving his own wheels, that's for sure ;-)
Speaking of which, can anyone recall Clinton ever driving a car? Does that guy OWN a car?

It's incredibly childish to exult over being First on this thread.
That being said, I lucked in tonite and this is probably my earliest post (since the early days of the thread when we didn't have as many people.)
Putin looks pretty hot in the black outfit.
Of course, no one looks hot compared to Dubya.
Hate to be a member of the fashion police but Mrs. Putin made a bad choice in the sweater. Those marks just look like she'd been run over by a Russian wolfhound.
I love the pics in the pickup.

#4 - they look like two little boys enjoying their toys!
What glorious news that the eight have been rescued! Thank you, Lord!

The thingys on Mrs. Putin's sweater look like tails of small critters . . . mink? chinchilla? (not ermine), not rats, or muskrats or beavers . . . .hmmmmmmm. I wonder what other little critters are indigenous to Russia?

That picture is so fabulous, I hope it's on the front page of every newspaper in Russia tomorrow, as a matter of fact, I wish it would be on the front page of every newspaper in the US, but not a chance that it will be.

On another thread I was reading about all the things Bush and Putin have in common......another one not mentioned is that they both married red heads! (Although Laura's is darker.)
The pseudo-elites on MSNBC that did not know what a hoe-down was and thought the fried catfish on the menu was sooooo funny don't realize that REAL people like this bit of Americana.
Thanks, rintense, for ANOTHER pleasurable night of viewing OUR President, wife, and guests in the heartland of the USA at their HOME (not squatting on someone else's property like the late, fake, and irrelevant you-know-whos).

It's feathers... courtesy of trent Lott, perhaps, or a tradition W has of giving everyone who visits the ranch a set of turkey feathers.
Trying to be southwestern and all. ; )
Either that or Marine One had a close call with a flock of Canada geese.
Hope they can find some time to rig her up in some real western gear... a nice vest, perhaps... some turqoise.

Yaknow...my inlaws had the OPPORTUNITY to go to the RANCH a few years ago for a BARBECUE and DIDN'T GO....(I guess they gave him some money, before he was really into running for President.) I AM going to REALLY harangue them about that at Christmas this year....really....THEY could have at least passed it to us - well actually, I'm not sure they could have. DARN!

Re:
Does that guy even own a car? It's for sure that Clinton didn't even own a home to take Putin to.

Too many Old Milwaukee's for you! Was there any proof that Bill owned a car???

Looks like they just used whatever umbrellas they had around the ranch. The one Laura is holding says "Cypress Invitational". I can't make out the year. Love the fact that it's not a fancy party, just folks out on the ranch.
