My FRiends Arator, TKEman, and keep U.S. Sovereign, yer opinions are valued on this thread as well.

"What soured you, and many, is when, on the turn of a dime the GOP'ers coldcocked him. They all kicked him in the head, truth be dammed, from W. Will, Chavez, our buddy McCain, Bennett, Buckley, Rush, Kristol, the only exception I can think of was Bob Novak, me and Pat."

Truthfully, what cost Pat my support--and a number of the folks you named above--was his leap to the Left on the issue of Free Trade. Protectionism is anathema to me, and to G. Will, Wm. Buckley, and Rush, and Pat pissed all over the concept in a frutiless attempt to gain the support of Big Labor, whom I guess Buchanan felt was "in play" since Clinton had been pro-NAFTA. As fer McCain and Kristol and a number of others, they're RINOs anyway and their opinions have no impact on mine whatsoever.

"They applied this massive effort to insure Bush would prevail in the election, all this was done at Pat's expense."

They did that at Forbes and Keyes and Quayle's expense as well, my FRiend, or were you under the delusion that the '99-'00 GOP Primary was a 2-man race?! Fact is, those folks believed Bush was the best chance for beating Gore, and one could make the argument that they may have been right (although I'll go to my grave believing Forbes could have whupped Gore handily). It's called politics...and sometimes our favorite candidate doesn't win.

"He was no more indespensible than Nixon, Gingrich, or Starr."

Nixon's and Gingrich's wounds were self-inflicted, and Starr was not brought down by the GOP, but by the Vast, LeftWing Medyuh Whore'd...and Starr's spineless unwillingness to Fight Like a Man cost him as well.

"So you see, you've been caught in the vortex (heading down) by this entourage. Wake up, my friend, start doing your own thinking. Try to think outside the box..."

Gimme a break, duckln...I'm no lemming following Party orders, not by a long shot. I will continue to insist the GOP do what I expect must be done and no Effete Elite PUNKS will convince me otherwise.

"...and when the clarion calls, mount up and ride to the sound of the guns!"

You can bet on it...when the fighting starts in earnest, I'll be as close to the middle of it as I can possibly get!!

"Isn't and wasn't Pat great?"

Admittedly, Pat's rhetorical skills were quite invigorating in their day, but even you have to admit that the World of Politics have left him behind (Reform candidate went from 10% with Perot to under 1% with Pat...remember) and his best bet for future relevancy would be to regain his credibility as an Elder Statesman by publically denouncing his pro-Protectionist Stands. Another thing that would reinvigorate interest in his personage--he'll never be a National candidate again, IMHO--would be for him to pick up the Clinton Re-Impeachment/Indictment Ball and run with it!! His rhetorical skills would come in handy in that upcoming effort.

Thanks for allowing me the opportunity to re-explain my Buchanan position...I might have to file this away the next time one of my GoPatGo FRiends starts flaming me as a GOP dupe...LOL!!

"The Shave"

George W. Bush and Bill Clinton somehow ended up at the same barbershop. As they sat there, each being worked on by a different barber, not a word was spoken.

The barbers were both afraid to start a conversation, for fear it would turn to politics.

As the barbers finished their shaves, the one who had Clinton in his chair reached for the aftershave. Clinton was quick to stop him saying, "No thanks, my wife Hillary will smell that and think I've been in a whorehouse."

The second barber turned to Bush and said, "How about you?"

Bush replied, "Go ahead. My wife Laura doesn't know what the inside of a whorehouse smells like."

IT IS TIME TO TELL THE TRUTH ABOUT THE CLINTONS

It is far past time for the Washington Post to stop its pandering to the Clinton administration and Hillary Rodham Clinton's Senate tease.

Far less than either Robert Kennedy or James Buckley, Hillary has no business running for the Senate in New York. She is not interested in issues that are important to New Yorkers. She is only interested in securing and expanding her own power base. The coverage she is getting in her trips to New York at taxpayer expense when she has yet to even announce her candidacy reveals a sickening sycophancy on the part of the media in general, but the Post specifically.

The Clintons - both of them - are professional white collar criminals. The Post should devote as much effort to exposing the crimes of the Clintons as it devotes to being their acolytes.

The Post should be asking for proof that Hillary's campaign is paying the taxpayers back for her trips to New York. Jeb Bush's wife was correctly criticized for not paying proper duty on the purchases she made in Paris - but not one question was raised in the media about whether Hillary paid duty on the Imelda Marcos-like purchase of Bruno Maglis shoes. Why?

Why is the Post not asking these and other questions? Hillary has not even announced that she is running, yet the media acts as if each breath from her is a proclamation of the salvation of humankind.

Questions are raised in the Post about George W. Bush using cocaine, but Hillary is on record as saying that both William Jefferson and Roger Clinton 'have noses like vacuum cleaners' when it comes to cocaine use. Why are you not digging into that? After seeing the Post's questions about Bush and Cocaine, I found the following on the NewsMax website:

"Thursday August 12, 10:42 AM

Washington Post Briefed on Clinton Cocaine Charge The Washington Post's Howard Kurtz has been fully briefed on what Gennifer Flowers had to say Friday about President Clinton and cocaine.

Inside Cover contacted Kurtz Wednesday morning to share Flowers' recorded account of Clinton's cocaine use, after the Post writer ignored the issue in a lengthy screed about completely unsubstantiated rumors that George W. Bush had used the drug.

On Wednesday the Post writer seemed to be trying to legitimize the unsourced Bush rumors with a report headlined, "Drug Use: A Campaign Issue in the Making." Despite Kurtz's inability to produce a single account from anyone saying that they'd either seen or heard of Bush using cocaine, Post editors felt Kurtz' story was newsworthy enough to warrant primetime exposure on page A02.

Kurtz's report echoed around the Globe, with, for instance, the London Times offering a thinly disguised rewrite in its Thursday editions.

The Post's subheadline offered this self-serving explanation for pursuing a story backed by no serious investigative reporting: "Bush Silence on Cocaine Query Feeds Media Quest for Answer."

Kurtz noted that his very own newspaper gave the Bush cocaine story a big push when two Post interviewers pressed the candidate on the question last month. Since then the GOP favorite has been asked the "C" question twice on television, declining to answer both times.

Though the topic has been in play for lttle more than a month, the press has now queried Bush directly on the as yet unfounded charge more frequently than President Clinton has been challenged on the "R" question.

That is: Why won't Clinton personally deny Juanita Broaddrick's compelling on-the-record account, backed by sworn FBI testimony and corroborated by multiple witnesses, that he raped her years ago in Arkansas.? After two tries the press has simply stopped asking.

The Washington Post, along with the rest of the mainstream media, has assiduously avoided asking Clinton the "C" question, despite published accounts from four people who claim to have either seen him use cocaine or report circumstances where Clinton's use of the drug was plainly obvious.

A fifth, former Little Rock drug dealer Sharline Wilson, gave her sworn eyewitness account of Clinton's cocaine use to a federal grand jury in 1990.

Kurtz wrote, "An admission of having tried cocaine, the focus of major federal anti-drug initiatives and much inner-city violence, could be more problematic" than a confession about using marijuana. The President has admitted to illegal marijuana use in England after first telling reporters who asked about drugs, "I've never broken the laws of my country."

After Clinton's classic marijuana obfuscation, mainstream reporters dropped further inquiries about Clinton's drug use.

In a bit of unintended irony, the Post writer noted, "Questions about the personal lives of candidates.....are often triggered by specific allegations, such as when Gennifer Flowers charged in 1992 that she had a long-running affair with candidate Bill Clinton."

What about Flowers' specific allegation, just delivered on Friday, regarding Clinton's cocaine use? Hasn't that news reached the Washington Post yet?

Inside Cover played the following tape recorded exchange into Mr. Kurtz answering machine Wednesday morning:

INSIDE COVER: Ms. Flowers, Sally Perdue says that Bill Clinton used drugs in her presence, specifically cocaine. Did you ever see Bill Clinton use drugs in your presence?

FLOWERS: Yes. He smoked marijuana in my presence and offered me the opportunity to snort cocaine if I wanted to. I wasn't into that. Bill clearly let me know that he did cocaine. And I know people that knew he did cocaine. He did tell me that when he would use a substantial amount of cocaine that his head would itch so badly that he would become self conscious at parties where he was doing this. Because all he wanted to do while people were talking to him is stand around and scratch his head.

A copy of Inside Cover's report, was faxed to the Post reporter's office after the call.

Is the Washington Post -- along with the rest of the press -- afraid to cover cocaine allegations about Bill Clinton? Ask Richard Bey, the TV talk show host who interviewed Flowers years ago.

After Flowers' appearance on Sean Hannity's New York radio show (where the longtime Clinton paramour answered our "C" question), Bey called in and told the host that Flowers dropped the Clinton coke bombshell on his program back in 1993.

The next day, according to Bey, network execs cancelled his highly rated show."

This appears to me to be nothing if not deliberate news media manipulation. If it is fair to ask the Cocaine question of Bush, it is equally fair to ask it of William Jefferson Clinton. Further, as Clinton has been accused of serial sexual assault and rape, going back at least as far as 1969, the Rape and Sexual Assault question should be asked of Clinton.

I have other questions:

* Why isn't the Post digging into why the FBI files illegally held in the White House have never been turned back over to the FBI?
* Why isn't the Post looking into why the White House computers have been given access to FBI computers?
* We have an Attorney General in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over subpeoned materials, including, but not limited to the LaBella memo. This is obstruction of justice. There is credible evidence that Hillary Rodham Clinton accepted illegal campaign contributions IN THE WHITE HOUSE.

There is in the public record substantial and credible evidence that William Jefferson Clinton knowingly took campaign cash from people affiliated with the Communist Chinese government, military and intelligence. Further, he may have, whether in exchange or for his own ideological reasons, allowed Communist China to ransack our most precious national-security information. If true - and it appears to be true - this behavior is capital treason, the most serious crime committed against the nation by any President in history. The Post has given coverage to these issues in a depth that could only be called lip service to the truth. Why?

Let us take a look at the record of the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the 'most ethical administration in the history' of the country:

* Number of indictments/ misdemeanor charges: 61
* Number of convictions: 33
* Number of imprisonments: 14
* Number of independent counsel investigations: 7
* Number of congressional witnesses pleading the 5th Amendment: 72
* Number of witnesses fleeing the country to avoid testifying: 17
* Number of foreign witnesses who have declined interviews by investigative bodies: 19

This country cannot afford any more of either of the Clintons. We cannot wait until the 2000 elections to bring this criminal administration to justice. It is time for the Post to quit being a mouthpiece for this utterly corrupt couple. You folks have long been accused of having a bias in favor of the political left. I believe the media should only have one bias: a bias for telling the truth. If a Republican administration were in power that is 1/10th as corrupt as the Clintons, you folks would have led the charge for its impeachment. Now we have both Clintons plus Gore, Richardson, Berger and General Stonewall Reno up to their eyeballs in treason. The Post gives these criminals an occasional swat with a lightly critical article. Other than that, you breathlessly cover Hillary's Un-campaign-Faux-New-York-Yankees-Fan-Kiss-My-Ring Annoint-Me-Senator-Pandering-Tour of Knickerbocker Land.

The Clinton administration must be impeached, convicted, removed and given the maximum legal punishment for treason. There comes a time when failure to stop treason becomes complicity in its commission. You people are beyond that point.

signed, Paul Cruce
