As for inlaws?
I have forbid her people from setting foot in my home for over eight years, now.
I simply won't have it.
There's no use making a rule like "forbidding politics" between the man & I because he'll open his mouth, & I'll be compelled to shut it.
This boorish behavior on my/his/our part greatly upsets our girls & the rest of the family, & so?
We simply do not communicate, intermingle, socialize; *ever*.
In fact, she goes *up* to see 'em during certain holidays, & I remain at the house awaiting her return.
A win-win for everyone involved, & for my part?
~I get to, "Honor thy Mother & Father; visa vi through silence.
I consider the whole matter another, "Legacy" (albeit rarely recognized as such...) given us by that bent SOB.
In retrospect & being as pragmatic as I can about the whole, sordid matter??
There was no other way I'd have been able to empathize, & actually appreciate what had happened between sons, fathers & related family during the Civil War; had this not happened to me personally.
Have a safe drive, enjoyable holiday, & eat to your heart's content.
This is one of those rare times whereby you'll actually be justified insodoing. ;^)

MY Pa-In-Law is a great guy...I love the heck outta him!! Dude used to jog from Richmond to Williamsburg just fer grins...LOL!!! Had some heart problems since then, but he's still a triple black belt and loves the heck outta his German Shepards...but we don't talk politics cuz of the WomenFolk.
