Isn't this wonderful? I read it again tonight and, doggone it, if tears didn't flow again!!!!

Luis - one of these days - I hope I have the high privilege of meeting you and of hugging some of these wonderful Cuban Americans who turned out to support their beloved "second" home - America - as they walked down the Freedom Road!

Tonight - in Kabul - I saw Afghan people dancing in their own streets - freedom streets I pray - free from the Afghan Butcher Tyrant Talieban! Thanks to our wonderful Commander in Chief, the magnificant American military, and the Afghan fighters of the Northern Alliance......another Freedom Road is in the making.

President Bush said the Sept 11 attack was an attack ON FREEDOM!

He was and is right. May a new dawn of Freedom begin to break over the world .......and may we one day have a chance to bring a freedom road right down the center of Havanna, Cuba!

I'm not crying this time, Luis. You and the courageous Cuban-American patriots of Miami deserve not only our fellowship, but our helping hand. You should be celebrated as the best America can be, and in another time, a different war, your rally would have been held up as an example for all Americans who take their freedoms for granted.

Why today's media chose to ignore this story, why they chose to release their disingenuous recount story on Veterans' Day I can imagine, but I'd rather believe that they have lost their way. Forwarding your essay so that they may share your vision, your blessing on our nation, your truth. Thank you, Luis.
